Haida Gwaii
Haida Gwaii is an archipelago off British Columbia’s west coast, in Canada. Wildlife-rich Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site includes remote islands and temperate rainforest. Centuries-old totem poles stand in the remains of the Haida Nation village known as SGang Gwaay. From fossil records, we know the Haida were present at least 7,000 years ago, and probably earlier as the Pleistocene glaciers were retreating by then.

Haida watchman Vincent was awesome - loved listening to his stories. Right behind him is "Black Fish" (ie Killer Whale) totem. You have to have a permit and permission to visit. Groups have to be 12 or less people.
