Haida Gwaii
Haida Gwaii is an archipelago off British Columbia’s west coast, in Canada. Wildlife-rich Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site includes remote islands and temperate rainforest. Centuries-old totem poles stand in the remains of the Haida Nation village known as SGang Gwaay. From fossil records, we know the Haida were present at least 7,000 years ago, and probably earlier as the Pleistocene glaciers were retreating by then.

Humpback Whale (weighs up to 66,000 lbs)
Humpback breaching - lots of Humpbacks with calves down by Cape St. James (averages highest wind speeds in all of Canada). We motored around Cape St. James with only swells to 3-4' and light to moderate winds as we turned the corner from the west side to the east side of the island.
