Strawberry Fields Slab Avalanche (5 Jan 2021 approx.)
Strawberry Fields Slab Avalanche -Natural Release sometime around 5 Jan 2021-2 ft slab ran on surface hoar sitting on thin (2") crust, about 5" below old rain crust - below bed surface was about 1 ft. of facets - possibly old snow from late October - aspect: 66 degrees (NE) - pitch was 30-31 degrees - unusual avalanche for this site. Avalanche crown was about 100' wide and ran at least 200 ft. Elev 8,400'
